諺語：That's the way the cookie crumbles. 餅乾就是這樣碎掉的。
意思：指事情已經發生、生米已煮成熟飯，沒辦法改變，勸人只能接受事實。
例：You did do a bad job on the test, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Accept it!
這次考試你真的表現很差，但事情已發生無法改變。接受它吧！
諺語：tough cookie 強悍的餅乾
意思：有正面和負面兩種含意，正面是稱讚人堅持、堅強不放棄，負面是形容人過於強悍而難相處。
例：Andrea experienced quite a few difficulties in her childhood. She overcame all the obstacles; she is a tough cookie.
安卓麗亞童年時經歷不少困難。她都一一克服了；她是個堅強的人。
蛋 egg
諺語：to put all your eggs in one basket 把你所有的蛋都放在同一個籃子裡，指人孤注一擲，沒有分散風險。
例：It's unwise to apply for the only one "dream job" that you kept talking about; you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket.
只申請唯一一個你一直講不完的「夢想工作」是不明智的；你不能把蛋都放在同一個籃子裡。
諺語：egg sb on 慫恿人去做某件事的意思，通常都是一些不智的事。
例：Paul's girlfriend was egging him on to fight.
保羅的女友慫恿他去打架。

諺語：have a beef with sb 與某人意見不合、有心結
例：John had a beef with his best friend, because they fell in love with the same girl.

例：Dad was beefing about having to do the Christmas shopping ; he hates shopping.

例：You have to butter your parents up a bit before they'll agree.

小麵包 bun
諺語：to have a bun in the oven 。bun 比喻成媽媽肚子裡的小嬰兒，oven （烤箱）比喻成媽媽的子宮（或肚子），所以這個俚語是用來形容某人懷孕了。
例：
A: I asked Linda not to drink anymore.
B: Why?
A: She has a bun in the oven.
B: Wow, congrats!
A：我叫琳達別再喝酒了。
B：為什麼？
A：她懷孕了。
B：哇，恭喜！
起司 cheese
諺語：big cheese 形容具有影響力的人、大人物。
例：After several years of hard work, Peter becomes the big cheese at his company.
經過幾年的努力工作，彼得成為公司的大人物。
